Utah Trip: December 2011

It's been a while. I have a good excuse. My iphoto crashed in September, making for a VERY frustrating couple of months. I had 19,000 or so pics that I had to save and figure out what to do with. It set me back. I am very behind with the many things I use pictures for. :( The good news is that I think I have things figured out. The pics were saved as far as I can tell. In the meantime, I couldn't even think about updating, although we were still having lots of fun!

Instead of trying to catch up, I am starting fresh. This is the first video I've put together this year, so it's going on. We went to Utah Christmas Day to see Corey's family. We love seeing them and while it was a quick trip, we loved every second of it. Thanks for a great time!

Ekins Family Reunion

we ALL met this month for the first time in about 5 years!! that is WAY too long... we stayed at britt's and had a blast.... we went into the city to play, hiked and (of course) had a photo shoot, spent the afternoon at the beach and played at the boardwalk all night long, and swam in the local pool. the cousins played and played... the trampoline was definitely the biggest hit, although the polly pockets took a close second. we absolutely loved seeing everyone and can't wait until next year. thanks to everyone for making it possible! this video is a little on the long side, but thanks to britt, we got so amazing photos that it was hard to choose! :)

Yosemite July 2011

We started (hopefully!) a new tradition this year... The Greenlaws used to go to Yosemite every summer to camp. We have NEVER done this and we live SO close. So, Corey got up early and fought for 2 campsites.. and got them!!! So, we met up in Yosemite for an amazing week. We hiked, waded in the river, jumped off rocks, ate yummy food, rode bikes all around, laughed and had a fantastic week. The cousins had a blast and so did the adults!! I would absolutely love to do this again next year and hope that everyone can come next time!!!!

non-stop july

i love summer. i seriously wish it could last forever. i love having no schedule, having my kids home and playing with them, i love hanging out with friends, swimming whenever we can, going to the movies, taking trips and seeing family and friends. i love everything about it. july was packed full of fun... a girl's hike in huntington.. trips to wild water, soccer camp and choir camp for ellie, fourth of july fun with my parents, trips to the lake with friends, singing at the retirement home with the girl scouts, friends over to hang out, and lots of down time to relax and enjoy EVERY day. we just got back from a family reunion that we adored. (pics to follow) and we still have a week left! bring on more summer.

STEP UP (Set the Example Personally) 2011

I feel like such a weight has been lifted. For months, we have been planning and preparing for this one week in June. Countless prayers were offered, fasts were made, the temple was attended. And miracles were witnessed. Although not a perfect week, it was an amazing one nonetheless. Friendships were strengthened, testimonies grew, the Spirit was felt. Memories were made, all had FUN :), and I know that lives were changed. I am so grateful for His help in all of it. I am so grateful for EVERYONE'S help. It is truly a team effort and an enormous undertaking. I know I was inspired to "STEP UP".

San Diego Summer

We took a spontaneous trip to San Diego last week. It was very mellow... lots of beach time, swimming at the pool, and smiles. Very relaxing, which was just what we needed. We explored Balboa Park a little, and also stopped at the Getty Center on the way home. (amazing!!) I loved every second of it... I love being with my crew.

so much talent

We had a busy week! Ellie danced in both her school talent show AND her annual recital. She did a wonderful job... SO cute! Noah also performed in the school talent show again on the piano. He's played every year since 1st grade! He also did a great job... he was sick the day before and we didn't even know if he'd be able to play!! He didn't even practice that day, but still managed a great performance. I am so proud of my talented kids. :)
